The Young Actors Theater Strasbourg (YATS) association is organizing a poster competition for its 2026 show “The Music Man”
- Objective: With this competition YATS is seeking an original visual to promote the musical “The Music Man”. The show will be staged at the Point d’Eau (Ostwald) in October 2026. Promotions will take the form of posters (300 x 400, 400 x 600 and 600 x 800), playbill, flyers, and digital advertisements on YATS’ website, on third party sites, and social media.
- Organization: This competition is organized by Young Actors Theater Strasbourg (YATS) a non-profit association for young amateur actors (aged between 11 and 18 years old). The competition is open to all without restriction.
- Graphics: YATS reserves the right to eliminate any design they consider to be offensive to the morality, dignity, intellectual property or any rights of a third party. The submitted design must be a creation that reflects one or more elements of the musical, without repurposing pre-existing works. Participants must produce a “poster” type design. All graphic methods and techniques are accepted. The original artwork supplied must be reproducible in a 40×60 cm (A2) format, at a resolution of 300 dpi (minimum), with registration and crop marks, using a CMYK color profile, and a 3 mm bleed.
- The following elements must be included on the poster: The following texts: “MEREDITH WILLSON’S THE MUSIC MAN” / “(Le marchand de fanfares)” / “in English” / “Book, Music and Lyrics by MEREDITH WILLSON” / “Info & tickets: yatstrasbourg.com” | The design must also leave sufficient space for: the dates and times of the 5 performances, both the YATS and Point d’Eau logos, a QR-code, and a 3 cm white strip at the bottom of the poster to include the sponsors’ logos. NB: The designer’s name must not appear on the design.
- Submission: Designs must be sent by e-mail to comms@yatstrasbourg.com in JPG or PDF format (1MB maximum), and arrive before 10 May 2026. Submissions must be accompanied by the designer’s first and last names, date of birth, city of residence, e-mail address, and telephone number. By submitting, all participants confirm that their design is original and does not copy or violate anyone else’s work. YATS is not responsible if a submitted design unintentionally resembles an existing work. YATS may ask for changes to the winning poster, but will not make any major changes without the creator’s permission. The winner gives YATS permission to print, publish, share, and reproduce the poster in any format without limitation. The creator will be credited on all uses of the poster.
- Selection of the winner: The YATS Executive Board will review anonymized submissions and select the winner in May 2026. The winner will be notified by email and/or phone, and the winning design will be announced on the YATS website and social media in June 2026.
- Prize: The winner of the competition will receive 4 free tickets for the show, once the final print-ready version of the poster is delivered.
