Get ready — because YATS’ Oliver! is about to blow audiences away. When the curtain rises this Saturday at 8pm at Le Point d’Eau, Ostwald, you’ll see why everyone is already talking about it. The stage is being transformed into the smoky, teeming streets of Dickensian London, and Ben Bentz and his scenery team have been working around the clock to make it look just like the real thing. Costumes, props, makeup – it’s all taking shape, and it’s stunning.
Our young actors are now rehearsing with microphones and full theater acoustics, bringing every note and every dance move to life with power and precision. You can feel it already — this show is going to be something special. One performance is already sold out (bar three isolated seats), and the rest are disappearing fast.
It’s no wonder. This is YATS’ biggest production ever — the biggest audience, the biggest set, the biggest backstage team of volunteers — and it promises to leave you amazed, emotional and on your feet. Opening night will be one of those “I was there” moments. The only thing left is the thunderous round of applause that’s sure to come when the final note rings out.
It only runs for five performances, and you’ll kick yourself if you only see it once. Go twice. Go three times. Just go.
You have to see this show.
