The Music Man, Harold Hill, is a fast-talking traveling salesman who arrives in small town Iowa with a plan to sell instruments and uniforms for a marching band that he has no intention of forming. Unfortunately for Harold, things get complicated when he meets and falls in love with Marian, the town librarian. Throw in plenty of comedy, a healthy dose of small-town gossip, and some seriously infectious music, and Harold’s plan starts to unravel.
The result is a warm, funny, romantic, and gloriously old-school musical, with big ensemble numbers, memorable characters, dancing, and songs that range from the exuberant “Seventy-Six Trombones” to the beautiful “Till There Was You”. The Music Man is a Broadway classic for good reason.
