A Little Night Music

Inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s film Smiles of a Summer Night and winner of four Tony Awards, A Little Night Music is one of the great works of American musical theater. Sondheim’s score, among the most sophisticated ever written for the stage, weaves a tapestry of romantic entanglement, regret, and desire set against the languid elegance of a Swedish Summer. Its most celebrated song, Send in the Clowns, has become one of the most recognizable pieces in musical theater.
