First came our pre-audition workshops, where 70 local young performers joined us to practice singing and acting as well as learn the audition dance routine and harmonies for The Music Man. A few days later, 18 kids took part in our audition masterclass, working on their songs and performance skills before dancing their socks off once again. Then came audition weekend itself, with 90 young performers singing, acting and dancing in front of our jury, all hoping to win a place in the cast of this Autumn’s show. This week, some were invited back for call-backs to audition for specific parts, and we’re now almost ready to announce who’s playing who in the show (but not just yet).
Behind the scenes, we’ve also been working on finalizing our new show poster, picked from among 16 brilliant designs sent in from around the world. At the same time, we’ve been visiting possible venues for our Alumni summer show, which we’ll announce very soon.
