As part of your YATS Oliver! audition, you’ll be asked to perform a short harmony evaluation and a dance routine. Everything you need to prepare — including audio tracks, sheet music, and choreography videos — can be found on the auditions page.
Harmony Evaluation
Right after you perform your memorized solo, you’ll sing a short section from “I See a River.” This harmony piece does not need to be memorized, but you should be familiar enough with it to sing confidently with a backing track. Start by listening to the version with the melody to learn your part, then practice with the band track (which is what you’ll use in the audition). You’ll be reading from a lead sheet during the evaluation — we’ll have a copy for you, but you can bring your own if you prefer.
Dance Routine
The dance routine is also part of the audition process. Videos demonstrating the choreography are available on the audition page. Make sure to review and practice the moves ahead of time.
Good luck — and have fun at the auditions!
