YATS alumni in the Spotlight: Iris Grimsmo

Where is she now?

Iris tells us, “Last year I graduated from London College of Fashion with a Bachelor’s degree in fashion communication, specializing in journalism. During my studies I interned for a fashion brand and I worked in any acting jobs that I could find. Now, since graduating, I am mainly focusing on acting! It is my full-time occupation and I am taking classes in London as well as acting professionally. I mainly work on TV and film, and I will be pursuing acting in London and working in the industry for the foreseeable future.”

Iris recalls, “YATS played a big part in helping me find my passion for acting. It helped me overcome a lot of the shyness and stage fright that I still struggle with today! It also taught me a lot about the effort and work it takes to create an amazing show, and how important it is to work as a team. I met some of my closest friends in YATS shows, whom I still see and keep in contact with today! Now that I am a bit older, I love to go watch the shows YATS is producing and to see everyone who was a part of it again!”

October 2023: fall musical, Fiddler on the Roof

Mark your calendar! The YATS fall musical, Fiddler on the Roof, will run for five performances, on October 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at Point d’Eau, Ostwald. Fiddler has long been considered one of the greatest pieces of musical theater, with a score that is instantly recognizable and the story of family that is both funny and touching. Audiences around the world connect with Fiddler because it seems to tell their story.

Fiddler auditions – a new YATS record!

YATS had a record-breaking 90+ young enthusiasts sign up for the pre-audition workshops and Fiddler on the Roof auditions. The atmosphere was electric! A big thanks to each and every parent who volunteered their time to help organize the workshop and audition weekends.
