Come and join us for the workshop performances of Godspell, a three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winning show, in which messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life with an eclectic blend of musical styles and beloved songs.

The show is structured as a series of parables, primarily based on the Gospel of Matthew, interspersed with music mostly set to lyrics from traditional hymns. It began as a project by drama students at Carnegie Mellon University but was rescored for an off-Broadway production – opening May 17, 1971 – which became a long-running success.

Several cast albums have been released over the years. “Day by Day”, from the original cast album, reached #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the summer of 1972.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe) (www.mtishow.co.uk) and l’Agence Drama – Paris (www.dramaparis.com). All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
